However, New York State uses a different standard and since I still lived at home in ‘06 and still do, they require information on my parents, including their social security numbers. I don’t even want to bother at this point, since if they factor in my father’s income, I’m not going to get anything, and I don’t want to mislead them either. The only problem is that I have a very low gpa, 2.6. I needed some tips or ideas about how I can still get into a school? I am scared that I will not be accepted anywhere. Do I still have a chance at grad school? Are there any schools in the U.S who accept students with low gpa’s? Is it easier to get into a masters program and then transfer into the PhD program from there? I need some advice, can someone help me? Im desperate as it is time to start applying to schools.

Gladys

davidm1294 asked:

I am an upcoming freshman at SUNY Buffalo University and I am planning to transfer to Cornell during the next fall semester of 2008. It is my dream school and I really want to attend there by trying to maintain a college GPA of atleast a 3.8. Since there is a great emphasis of consideration on recent college work during transfers I am also planning to join many clubs at my current college. My high school gpa is 3.7 + 4 APs and 6 honors + 2 clubs.
SAT scores are not considered for transfer students in Cornell.
Do you think I have a good chance? If I’m also planning to go to grad school how will I manage to pay around 45k each year for Cornell and grad school? Are loans a financial burden after you graduate? Can grants and scholarships really cover most of that amount?

Francis

I want to become a School Psychologist and will have to go through grad school and a 1 year internship before I graduate. I was wondering what you think about getting married while in grad school based on the finiacial part. Will getting married while still in school put a finicial burden on the marriage, and what if having a baby comes up before graduation?

Marc
