Anyways, all of that aside.. Would you rather have kids before you start your career (so that you don’t have to ask for pesky maternity leave that employers hate)? Or, start your career and only spend 6 weeks with your newborn while on maternity leave?
Either way sounds like it sucks to me. What would you do? I’m just thinking of a timeline in my head and what I want to do with my life.
Money will never be a problem. I just want an idea of when it would be best for me to conceive.
My fiance has/will have more than enough money to support us. Guaranteed :p

I’m entering a Ph.D. program this fall. I keep thinking about how I’ve been just as happy doing jobs where all I need is a bachelor’s (I have an engineering degree, so it’s not like I have to go to grad school), and I’m not sure I have the drive to conqueor these knowledge towers in front of me. I’m also upset because my boyfriend will be starting a job 800 miles away at the same time I start school. Honestly, I want to give up on grad school and just go get a job in his city, but I already signed a lease for next year.

I have class MWF and work T, Th, S and I don’t want my school work or gpa to suffer– I think that is the most important thing. What should I do? Stick it out or focus on school? How important are extracurriculars in regards to grad school admissions?
